Altenburger City Council forbids Solar Parks in Ackerland: Investor plans stopped

Altenburg City Council speaks word of solar parks in arable land

The Altenburg City Council clearly positioned itself against solar parks in agricultural areas last week. The political groups therefore agree that photovoltaic systems do not belong on high-quality agricultural land, but on already sealed areas.

solar parks on a total of 98 hectares of the best field prevents

Investors had announced their interest in the establishment of large solar parks in the Altenburg districts of Kürbitz, Modelwitz and Stünzhain. In Kürbitz, the Ingolstadt Solar Department Anumar planned to turn on photovoltaic systems on 58 hectares of the best floor. In Modelwitz and Stünzhain, the Berlin company Qenergy wanted to build a solar park on a total of 40 hectares of arable land. During the lands of the investors at the potential locations, protests by affected residents already occurred in September.
With the unanimous no of all city council groups, the plans of the solar investors are off the table. Because in the power of the city councils it is whether the lengthy procedure of a development plan gets rolling at all. The development plan is a prerequisite for obtaining building law on arable land.
