Unemployment in Central Saxony has moved slightly at the end of 2023. In December, 7753 unemployed women and men were registered in the district. That is 150 or two percent more than in November. The unemployment rate rose by 0.1 percent to 5.0 percent compared to the previous month. Compared to the previous year, 162 people or 2.1 percent more people are unemployed. A year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.9 percent.

The unemployment inventory is distributed differently to the individual regions in middle saxony. Döbeln recorded the strongest increase compared to the previous month with 6.3 percent. Unemployment rose by 0.8 percent in Hainichen and unemployment in Freiberg has dropped by 1.2 percent. The lowest unemployment rate with 4.3 percent exists in the Hainichen area. This is followed by Freiberg with 4.8 percent and Döbeln is 6.2 percent.

The labor question is currently being sinked in Central Saxony. The number of newly reported areas is below the previous year's level. The companies are reluctant to report new jobs. Kathrin Groschwald: "The effects of the weak economy and the economic risks also have a firm grip on the job market at the end of the year." Mostly qualified specialists would be sought for the open jobs. According to the agency chief, more than 2900 unemployed people in Central Saxony have no professional qualification or personal obstacles.
