A butteric acid attack on the AfD stand at the day of the Saxons ensures a police operation

A butter acid attack caused a police operation at the start of the “Day of Saxony”. Unknowns attacked the status of the AfD parliamentary group. Butyric acid was buried at the stand, which rapidly spread a biting stench. Fortunately, nobody was injured. The incident occurred on Friday evening around 6 p.m. on the so-called party part in Alfred-Brodauf-Straße in Aue. A small van was also hit by the acid. The fire brigade cleaned the ground. The police investigate a political background for property damage.

"Day of Saxony" celebrated for the first time since 2019

On the day of the Saxons, hundreds of clubs, institutions, dealers and companies from the Free State of Saxony present themselves. After the big festival in 2020 and 2021 had to be canceled due to the Corona pandemic and led financial reasons to cancel 2022, it is now possible for the first time since 2019 to celebrate the largest local and club festival in the Free State. Around 180,000 visitors are expected in Aue by Sunday. More than 170 program items are planned on different stages.

No day of Saxony planned in 2024

For the coming year there is no applicant who is willing to align the big festival. Therefore, there will most likely be a day of Saxony in 2024.

The day of Saxony has been taking place in changing locations since 1992 and is very popular. In 2019, the festival in Riesa attracted around 310,000 visitors. It is a festival that symbolizes the cohesion between people and shows what is possible if you create something together.
