Five other alleged ISIS members were charged
Düsseldorf, Karlsruhe. After a Tajik IS member from Wuppertal was sentenced to seven years in prison, the federal prosecutor raised charges against other suspects at the Düsseldorf Supreme Court. The five defendants, who are also Tajik citizens, are sufficiently suspicious, as members of the foreign terrorist organization "Islamic State" (IS), the federal prosecutor said in Karlsruhe on Monday.
In addition, one of the four defendants is accused of violating the weapons law and preparing a serious act of violence that endangers the state. Another defendant also deals with violations of the Foreign Trade Act.
Close contacts with the IS leadership
In the indictment against the five defendants, the federal prosecutor referred to close contacts with high-ranking leaders of the IS terrorist group, under whose guidance had been set up various activities such as training, donation and recruitment from North Rhine-Westphalia. The basis for this was a Russian and Tajik-speaking online network.
Ultimately, the activities in the state led to the establishment of the association's own NRW terroral cell in January 2019. In addition to the five defendants, these cells also included Ravsan B. from Wuppertal, who had been sentenced to seven years in prison by the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court at the end of January.
