Gladbach's captain Lars Stindl about a possible DFB comeback: Can be very realistic
Borussia Mönchengladbach's captain Lars Stindl can imagine a comeback in the national team. "It is important to be in shape in summer and to be up to date. If the national coach is considering hiring, I am very happy about it," said the 32-year-old on Friday evening after the 4: 2 (2: 2) of the Gladbacher against Borussia Dortmund with regard to the European Championship in summer. "If it shouldn't be that way, I keep my fingers crossed for the boys," added Stindl.

The attacker is currently in excellent form and assisted on Friday ahead of national coach Joachim Löw in the stands of the Borussia Park. After the former world champion Thomas Müller from FC Bayern Munich with 16 goal scorers, Stindl is currently the most successful German Bundesliga player with 15 goal scorers. "At the moment this is not an issue for me. Of course, the media are working a bit," said Stindl a little restrictively: "In January there will be no international matches anyway."
Stindl won the Confederations Cup with Germany in 2017 and completed eleven international matches by 2018. The former Hanoverian was injured before the 2018 World Cup. A year ago, Stindl had already finished the national team. "Yes. I can assess that very realistically. It was an incredibly good time," Stindl replied in a dpa interview when he was asked whether the time was over in the national team.
