crisis in the construction sector
The crisis of the construction industry is also becoming increasingly clear in northern Saxony. Latest development: The employees in the press work of the Hydro extrusion in Rackwitz have been in short work since Friday. The scope and duration of the measure are unclear - but it apparently does not affect all employees.
rackwitz. The crisis of the construction industry continues to circles - and now also reaches companies in the Delitzsch region. The employees of the Hydro extrusion press work in Rackwitz have been in short work in Rackwitz. With this news, Mayor Steffen Schwalbe (independent) surprised the local council on Thursday evening.
The information even found its way to the committee by chance. Actually, the municipal manager had informed the councils on a regular budget balance. When the speech came up with the significant trade tax revenue, which was significantly higher than expected, Schwalbe tore up the location of the aluminum manufacturer. He gained knowledge of the step in a recent company visit, said the mayor. According to Schwalbe, the collapse situation in the main trigger construction sector is the short -time work.
How many employees are affected by the measure and how long the short -time work has been registered is not officially known. Hydro-extrusion managing director Matthias Hellmann had LVZ request on Friday that one would not comment on the facts until further notice.
According to LVZ information, almost all areas of the press plant are affected by short-time work. Only the area of maintenance is probably excluded - also because the Hydro extrusion is currently dealing with integrating a third strand into the production. Around 250 employees are currently employed at the strand press.
