In Germany, the need for regular blood and plasma donations is of crucial importance. Around 15,000 blood donations are required every day to maintain medical care and save the life of patients. However, only about three percent of the population regularly donate blood or plasma, which underlines the importance of every single donation. These figures show how valuable the commitment of the donors and what effects it has on society.

Rudolf Meixner, Managing Director of Haema, emphasizes: "The blood and plasma donation is one of the easiest ways to save good and live life." The donated plasma is passed on to Grifols, a company that develops highly effective medication for the treatment of serious diseases. For example, donors not only make an immediate contribution to emergency aid, but also contribute to the sustainable improvement of global health care.
