a world - a heaven: the kite festival in Erdmannshain
Naunhof/Erdmannshain. A world - a heaven. This is the annual kite festival on the meadows at the Saxony Clinic Erdmannshain. It goes back to a worldwide peace -stiff movement. Organizer Geralf Just announces a news for this year.
1986 Humanity looked excitedly in the hope of becoming a witness of a rare natural spectacle. After 76 years, the Hallysche Komet should return spectacularly. A mistake of science, his appearance was quite lean compared to two previously unknown comets of the following decade.
The announced event also moved Jane Parker Ambrose. The American looked at the sky and realized that the wind that knows no boundaries is an one -off element around the globe. And in the kite she saw a multicultural symbol that is also the most peaceful of all air devices. In 1986 she created the movement One Sky One World, which should be a conscious sign of insight that there is only one world that represents the present for everyone. On one day a year, the sky should be adorned with colorful dragons all over the earth. For this she chose the second Sunday in October.
The movement followed by well -known personalities and organizations over time. In 1989 she blessed Pope John Paul II, for example, and in 1996 on the tenth day of the foundation, the US room trip authority NASA sent a kite with the "Endeavour" space ferry into space. In 2000, UNESCO voted to include one sky one world in the activities of the decade of non -violence.
New offer for children
also in the small Naunhofer district of Erdmannshain were sympathizers. They have been organizing kite flying for peace for years. It is of particular importance for you today, even if you don't want to see it as a purely political event.
"All people should come together with us, enjoy movement in fresh air," says Geralf Just, chairman of the Heimatverein Erdmannshain. Everyone is welcome. Guests from Dresden, Strehla, Wittenberg and Leipzig, who are devoting themselves to hobby kite flying, have already announced themselves. The Burgenland gliders who bring a new offer are expected from Naumburg. Children can make dragons for the first time.
action in hundreds of locations
The supporting program also includes a face painting. In good weather, a hot air balloon should start. The visitors are taken care of. 3 p.m. Helium balloons for peace and tolerance will rise in the world.
On the memorial stone for the fallen of the Second World War in Erdmannshain, the saying "Weapons leave no winner" stands, of which Geralf just have to think about the current situation. He does not want to take a party for the war in Ukraine. "Only so much: there is not only black and white, but also a lot of gray in between," he says, and warns: "It is always better to solve conflicts without weapons."
In this sense, there are similar events on the same day in hundreds of places around the world. It unites the goal of promoting community fun, understanding of friendship between people, environmental awareness and world peace.
One Sky One World, October 8, from 12 p.m. at the Saxony Clinic Erdmannshain
