For the 100th anniversary of the »Hunting School« by Albert Sixtus and Fritz Koch-Gotha, a new, modern version of the cross-generational classic-written by Anke Engelke and as an audio book, appeared by Annette Frier. The new "bunny school" brings nostalgia and modernity together by not only questioning old role models, but also ending the hostility between rabbit and fox and shows how exciting it can be to make new friendships.
Anke Engelke, a well -known German actress and moderator, has reinterpreted the story in funny and serious verses. She is also known as the voice of Pixar’s Dory and Marge in "Die Simpsons". The illustrations for the picture edition were created by Mareike Ammersken.
Albert Sixtus, the author of the original, was born in 1892 and published the »bunny school« in 1924 in cooperation with Alfred Hahn’s Verlag in Leipzig. His work shaped the children's book tradition of the early 20th century and comprises about 70 works.
For the new audio book version, other stories, such as "Easter in the bunny school" by Julia Walther and "Winter in the bunny school" by Albert Sixtus. The purely digital version of the audio book also contains music by Oliver Verz and has been available since March 14, 2024.
The reinterpretation of the "bunny school" by Anke Engelke is suitable for children from 4 years and for the whole family and will surely inspire a new generation of fans for this timeless work.
