Leipzig is promoting 21 projects - City of Leipzig this year

The city of Leipzig wants to finance a total of 21 projects from which five medical practices affect. The projects were selected by a jury under the direction of the Commissioner for People with Disabilities.

Last year 22 projects were implemented with a total of 382,500 euros. Among other things, the inputs of the "Active Seniors Leipzig EV" in Döllingstr. 31 and the socio -cultural center of the "Frauenkultur eV" in Windscheidstr. 51 equipped with ramps for wheelchair users and strollers. A platform lift was installed at Paul-Gruner-Straße 62 for the "Radio Leipzig-Verein EV" and the Catholic Church of St. Neri in Kolpingweg 1 was provided with an automatic door. Barrier -free seating was set up in the Geyserhaus and in the community garden of the Public train station Plagwitz.

The "Green Together EV" in Riesaer Straße 104 was able to build barrier -free paths and ramps and create raised beds that could be driven. For the Schillerhaus, the city sponsored a tactile model of the historic building ensemble and a descriptive audio tour.

The funding program "Favorite Places for All" has been launched by the Free State of Saxony since 2014. The aim is to enable people with disabilities to visit and use publicly accessible institutions without obstacles and make them their favorite place. The funding applications for 2022 are expected to be submitted at the end of this year.
