New head of the health department proposed - City of Leipzig

The council is expected to finally decide on the proposal in October 2021. The position will be occupied from January 1, 2022.

Constanze Anders, born in Borna in 1983, is said to look at the current office manager, Dr. Regine Krause-Döring follows, which will retire at the end of the year. Constanze Anders is currently heading the department for infection protection and the vaccination center in the hygiene department of the Leipzig health department. After studying human medicine, she started working as a doctor in the Pediatric and Young Medical Service of the Health Department in Leipzig in 2010. In 2013 she passed the exam as a specialist in public health. As part of her training as a specialist for public health, she also worked in several stations at the Leipzig University Hospital. She passed the corresponding specialist exam in 2019. Since the beginning of 2020 she has been one of three managers in the Leipzig Health Department, especially as part of combating Corona pandemic.

The tasks of the health department are diverse and range from the public medical service to the areas of hygiene, child and adolescent medical and dental service to the psychiatric coordinator and the addiction officer. Around 170 people are currently employed in the health department.
