initiative fund

In 2022, another strategic project up to a maximum of 20,000 euros will be advertised in the initiative fund. The focus is on a comprehensive package of measures to strengthen social cohesion and democratic coexistence in the municipal context. In addition, six key projects of up to 10,000 euros are advertised in the 2022 initiative fund. Among other things, this is intended to implement a measure that represents the migrant life and the diverse commitment of migrants in Leipzig, a project for dealing with everyday racism or a measure on anti -Semitism prevention. Applications in the initiative fund for the new funding year can be made by non -profit associations and institutions by February 13, 2022. The responsible accompanying committee then decides on this.

action fund

In the promotional fund, smaller projects can be requested up to a funding amount of 700 euros. Applications in the action fund are possible beyond February 13, 2022 as long as the funds are not exhausted. The project term is limited to the calendar year 2022.

youth fund

Young people can receive support for their projects as part of the partnership for democracy as part of the youth fund. Here, funding of up to 500 euros is possible. Applications for youth projects can now be submitted without an application period.

In view of the Corona pandemic, the Department of Democracy encourages associations and institutions to develop digital projects or hybrid formats. They are also encouraged to deal with the effects of pandemic on democracy.

In the 2021 funding year, the number of project applications remained constant despite the corona pandemic. More than 60 projects as part of the partnership for democracy "Leipzig. Place of diversity". Among them for the first time was a strategic project and six lead projects, 21 measures in the initiative fund, 31 small projects in the campaign fund and six projects in the youth fund. These projects strengthened social participation and social cohesion, countered prejudices and discrimination and promoted dialogue and understanding.
