youth festival

Before the concert, the Leipzig youth and cultural associations of the anchors and Hall 5 as well as Johannes Schubert (winning band Cabon 2019) start another youth festival "Young musicians against violence and racism". The winning band will be announced on July 28, 2021, 8 p.m. in the anchor. The winning band determined by the audience and a specialist jury will also be present at the Open Air on July 30th.

"Music and texts reach all age groups and cultures more emphatically than a well -formulated speech. Music can combine and calls for attitude," explains Mayor Vicki Felthaus. "With the Courage concert, the political commitment of our city goes hand in hand with the high priority of diversity and non-violence in the coexistence of people. I am therefore very much looking forward to the concert, the musicians, their messages and wish me a great concert evening."

The event, which takes place regularly under the patronage of Mayor Burkhard Jung, is organized by an organization team around the artist Sebastian Krumbiegel. In cooperation with the University of Technology, Economic Affairs and Culture Leipzig, intensive media care is guaranteed before and during the Courage Open Air.

"Go upright, do not march in parallel. That is and remains the concern of the concert and there is no pandemic. Active promotion of human rights and promoting cosmopolitanism was always engine and motivation," says Sebastian Krumbiegel.
