Landsberger Straße is to be renovated in the coming year- including allocation to re-assign car and cycling. That should ensure a safer street.

The Landbergerstrasse in the north of Leipzig is to be renovated on a section. As the city has announced, the approximately 500-meter area between Coppzatz and Hans-Oster-Straße will be redesigned from March 2024. The construction work is extensive and, in addition to the renovation of the road, also affect the water infrastructure and new barrier -free stops. The city estimates the cost of renovating around four million euros. They should take planning until November 2024.

Safe bike path and new bicycle hangers

According to the city, the planning should be completely renovated according to the lanes. The section between Coppiplatz and the quarter is also added out of the city. To upgrade the street, secer travel conditions for cyclists also included secer travel conditions in Landsberger Straße. That is why bike strips are marked between the Coppiplatz and the quarter path and a gap in the network of cycle paths is closed. In addition, 15 new bicycle brackets are to be installed. Nevertheless, 124 parking spaces for cars are preserved.
