A 72-year-old cyclist was seriously injured in Markkleeberg on Thursday afternoon after driving against a barrier. According to the Leipzig police, the accident occurred at around 12.45 p.m. on the bicycle road "Zum Wildwasser". The woman drove in the southwestern direction and overlooked a pedestrian barrier. As a result, she collided with the barrier and then fell.

The cyclist suffered serious injuries and had to be treated in a hospital. The exact amount of property damage is currently still unknown.
