Discovered over half a ton of cocaine in banana boxes: drug discovery in Borna and Dürrweitzschen

In the south of Leipzig, hundreds of kilograms of cocaine were found in banana boxes. Now the exact amount of drug discovery has become known. The police had discovered suspicious parcels in a top of the Obdoman in Borna in August. A total of 283 kilograms of cocaine were secured there. Another recipient of Bananen in the Grimma district of Dürrweitzschen had also received 283 kilograms of the stimulant.

The street sales value of the found cocaine is located in the middle double -digit million range. Due to the enormous amount, the Investigation Group is now investigating the Ostsachsen Rauschgift together with the Leipzig public prosecutor's office due to the suspicion of unauthorized trade in narcotics. So far, no suspects are known.

The police were deployed with numerous vehicles and staff at the end of August to clarify the drug find. However, the exact background and origin of the cocaine are still unclear.
