Around 300 animals live in Gondwanaland, including Germany's only Komodo dragon and the Sunda-Gavial, threatened with extinction. There are a total of 40 species from Asia, Africa and South America. Around 17,600 different tropical plants (over 500 plant species) can be admired. 60 types of tropical fruits and spices are grown in a tropical vegetable garden, including pineapple, bananas, guaves, cocoa, pepper and sugar cane. The flora and fauna can be discovered on adventurous paths, some with a view of underwater, some in the tree tops on a suspension path and on an interesting boat trip on the "Gamanil". An reinforcement is also planned. Visitors can expect continental gastronomy with numerous lounge areas. There is a separate event area for private or company parties. Gonwanaland is a tropical treasure that can be found in the middle of Leipzig: "Gondwanaland" in the Leipzig Zoo, where the flora has already settled.
