The motto of the demonstration was "Assembly for Freedom" and pretended to oppose the restriction of fundamental rights as part of the Corona measures. In truth, as in the past, various conspiracy ideologies have been spread. Many right -wing extremists took part in the meeting, including several hundred neo -Nazis with hood and right hooligans. The vast majority of the participants did not adhere to the distance rules or the obligation to bear a mouth and nose cover. After several unsuccessful requests from the police to comply with the corona measures, the meeting authorities declared the rally over at 3:35 p.m. After the dissolution of the meeting had been announced, violent right -wing extremists grabbed the armed forces used with pyrotechnics and throw bottles. Dozens of them also ran through side streets and hunted journalists without a police scale. After a while, the police surrendered to the violent mob and cleared the street for exactly the group of people who had thrown massive pyrotechnics on the police a few minutes earlier. The meeting authority had the event moved from Augustusplatz in the city center to the parking lot of the new fair, based on the applicable Corona regulations. The organizers have initiated legal steps, so that thousands of people have gathered on Augustusplatz and the surrounding streets since morning. The meeting was organized by the initiatives "Cross -thinking 341" and "Cross -thinking 711". The latter was already responsible for the big Corona demos in Berlin at the beginning and at the end of August of this year. But the organized right -wing extremist scene was also busy with the mobilization: In a video, the rights YouTubers Hagen Grell and Thomas Grabinger ("Digital Chronicler") and Jürgen Elsässer, editor -in -chief of the right -wing extremist Magazins, asked people to participate in the protests. The neo-Nazi party NPD had also mobilized to Leipzig. A radicalization has been observed in the scene of the Korona deniers for some time: on the sidelines of the big demonstration, which was organized on August 29 in Berlin by the "Lateral Thinking 711", emergency services were attacked with bottles, and several hundred demonstrators overrun in front of the Reichstag building. According to the police, an attached letter of confession called for the immediate termination of all corona measures and the resignation of the federal government. . Youtube-Link 28.
