The KinderUni Leipzig starts an exciting series of lectures for children between 8 and 12 years to arouse interest in science and environmental protection on May 16, 2025.
an exciting program for inquisitive children
The KinderUni Leipzig is devoted to promoting knowledge and environmental awareness among young learners in the coming summer semester 2025. From May 16, various experts and scientists offer exciting lectures that are not only educational, but also stimulate the imagination and promote the children's readiness for discussion.
variety in focus: "Kiezkinder - we mix with!"
The kick -off event is made by Dr. Milena Bartels, a children's book author and doctor. She will deal with the little students how versatile family structures are today. The reading emphasizes the importance of equal opportunities and integration in our cities.
The fate of the Feldhamster
On May 23, the Zoo Director team, led by Prof. Dr. Jörg Junhold, the participants to think about the field hamster - an animal that is about to die out. This expedition not only sensitizes the children for species protection, but also conveys how important each individual species is for the ecological balance.
Discover friendship superpowers
On June 6th, Dr. Katrin Rothmaler present the topic of friendship and the "three magical superpowers", which, according to their research, are important for the interpersonal relationship. This investigation promotes empathy and social skills that are crucial for growing up.
quantum physics for all
For the first time in the children's university, a lecture on quantum computers is offered on June 13th, led by Prof. Dr. Philipp Bitzenbauer. The complex concept of quantum mechanics is clearly explained with entertaining experiments, such as a "magical" coin tower.
pain: a topic of life
On June 20, Dr. asks Falk Eippert, what happens when we hurt each other. With this lecture, it is discussed together the importance of pain and whether a pain -free world is desirable. This evening is also supplemented with the “Long Night of Sciences”, which comes up with a colorful program for children.
advance registration and events
The children's university demands timely registration because participation in the last winter semester was very high. Dr. Dominik Becher from the event team emphasizes the energetic atmosphere that the children bring to the Audimax. Adult accompanying persons are welcome and the joint experience of knowledge is expressly desired.
Every registered young participant receives a student ID card, and if you attend at least three events, you will receive a mini-Bachelor certificate as a reward.

The events take place every Friday at 5 p.m. im audimax (Augustusplatz 10) of the University of Leipzig and are free of charge.
