Mayor Burkhard Jung recently visited the company and found out about his remarkable development.

The foundation of Optimax Energy can be seen as an example of entrepreneurial success. From a student startup, the company has blossomed into a nationwide provider within a few years, which not only demonstrates Leipzig's innovative strength, but also emphasizes its importance in the context of the energy transition. Managing Director Albert Mantel explained how the increasing use of regenerative energies, which now covers 60 percent of German electricity requirements, has shaped the business area.

An essential aspect of Optimax's company model is the ability to precisely predict market prices, which is of crucial importance for municipal utilities and other energy providers. This technology helps customers achieve the best prices and to react to volatile electricity prices that are strongly influenced by weather conditions. Jung emphasized: "There is enormous know-how in this company, and we should focus on such promising technologies."

With around 50 employees, Optimax Energy relies on a future -oriented, innovative way of working that operates on the interface between IT and energy trade. This interdisciplinary approach ensures that Leipzig companies can participate in the forefront of the energy transition.
