Diesel alarm! Water protection police move out of oil contamination

On Wednesday morning there was an incident in the Elbehafen Brunsbüttel that contaminated the water surface with diesel fuel. The reason for this was overflowing during the bunker process of a Dutch tractor. At 8:45 a.m. the officers of the water protection police were informed after the pollution was found.

The good news: Due to the strong current of the Elbe, the leaked fuel was quickly evaporated, so that the emergency services were not fought. However, the incident aroused the attention of the authorities and reminded of the possible risk of environmental damage caused by such incidents in the port area.
