Creative dance and cultural promotion: Leipzig south in change!
Bergbau-Technik-Park Großpösna, Deutschland - Irina Pauls, a Leipzig choreographer, has created an exciting connection between art and social change in the southern room with her participatory dance project "Maientanz im Espenhain". Inspired by the profound changes that the open -cast mine in this region, Pauls addresses the "holes in communication" of local people. The project is the fourth part of the "More than coal" series and takes place in the Mining Technology Park Großpösna. She describes in detail how these changes not only influence the landscape and infrastructure, but also the social life of the local people.
"Maientanz in Espenhain" is carried out as a hands -on project in which four trained dancers and regional dance groups actively participate. The audience is included in mass choreography and various forms of the circular dance, which not only has an entertaining aspect, but also strengthens the community connection of the participants.
linking to urban development
The new Leipzig Charter for Urban Development, which pursues a local approach, underlines the need for integrated urban development. This charter considers specific places as reference points for developments based on well -founded analyzes. The aim is to reduce socio-economic inequalities and promote active citizen participation. Participatory cultural work is considered an effective way to implement this approach and to strengthen the identification of the citizens: inside with their environment. Experiences from cities such as Loos-En-Gohelle and Zeitz confirm that active inclusion and participation of the residents: inside have positive effects on social dynamics.
In the context of Paul's project, it is crucial that the audience not only acts as a passive viewer, but as an active co -designer. This not only promotes awareness of one's own history and the current situation, but also opens up new debate areas about local resources and change processes on site. Participatory cultural work strengthens people's commitment to their environment, which leads to a better cohesion within society.
artistic examination of the Lulu complex
The Schaubühne Lindenfels shows in parallel to Paul's dance project with a deal with the figure Lulu from Frank Wedekind's work. The opening event of the "Lulu Complex" series takes place by the Berlin music theater group Glanz & Krawall with the anti-patriarchal show "Lulu: Revanche in the circus tent", an exciting mixture of opera and electro punk. Further productions, such as "1023: Lyrical Suite of Alban Berg" and the solo show by Lulu Obermayer, complement the program, while the well-known work "The Box of Pandora" with the legendary Louise Brooks will be seen as Lulu on May 6th and 11th.
The events not only offer a cultural enjoyment, but also space for the critical examination of historical and current topics that are relevant to the residents: inside of Leipzig.
