Eutin transforms town hall: New service center opens soon!
The city of Eutin is approaching the citizen and restructuring: A new service center will be set up in the premises of the previous building office, which is to be opened this year. Mayor Sven Radestock (Greens) announced the measure, which was triggered by data protection concerns and the need to distribute registration staff over several rooms. A survey among the employees also had the desire for more civic friendliness.
The restructuring is accompanied by thoughts on cost savings and more efficient use of the urban buildings. For this purpose, a reception area is set up in the foyer of the building authority, which will include a photo box for passport photos in order to facilitate access to services to visitors. The registry office and the citizens' office move into the adjacent wings of the new building, while the office of the regulatory office is housed on the first floor. The wedding room remains in the town hall.
planned removals and restructuring
The planning also provides that the department, urban development and climate protection department may move into different buildings. A move of the free building of the Tourist Info on Markt 19 for employees in the finance and controlling department is under discussion, even if this move is only intended for 2026. The tourism company also plans to move into a fundamentally renovated accommodation on the corner of Markt/Peterstrasse in 2025.
The train station remains the starting point for ticket sales and is supplemented by a small welcome area, despite the extensive comprehensive renovation plans. One of the other changes is that the adult education center and the youth center move to the Albert-Mahlstedt School as soon as the new elementary school on Little Lake has been completed.
urban development in focus
These measures are in line with the general need to develop long -term concepts for urban renewal and development that take into account various aspects such as settlement structure, transport, environment, as well as social and financial issues. The urban planning of Eutin thus reflects the demands for sustainability, climate protection and increased quality of life. According to City Day it is important that urban planning processes are made to be adapted to take into account faster changes in the city.
Cooperative participation procedures that promote civic engagement and participation are considered essential to achieve a balance between professional and political ideals as well as social, cultural, economic and ecological matters. The use of digital instruments, including artificial intelligence, can help support planning and transparency.
Eutin is therefore on a promising path not only to master current challenges, but also to find future -proof solutions for urban development. The upcoming conversions and moves could be important steps in this direction and strengthen the quality of life of the citizens.
