Lantern parade with the youth fire brigade: fun for young and old!
On Saturday evening, November 29, 2025, it was once again “lantern, lantern, sun, moon and stars!” at the traditional lantern parades of the youth fire brigade, which took place in various cities such as Pinneberg and Lauenburg. These festive events attract not only the youth but also many families and citizens who set out together to enjoy the winter atmosphere.
In Pinneberg, the annual lantern parade was organized by the youth fire department. How feuerwehr-pinneberg.de reported, the parade started with the Appen Fire Department's musical band at the front. The participants, equipped with glowing torches, accompanied the procession while decorated fire engines were present. Particularly noteworthy was the visit from Santa Claus, who was once again rescued with a turntable ladder near the fire brigade's headquarters. After the parade, warm drinks, sausages and waffles were offered to drive away the cold.
Lantern parades in Lauenburg
Parallel to the activities in Pinneberg, an equally cheerful lantern parade took place in Lauenburg. The parade, which began at 6:30 p.m. in the courtyard of the K-Center, was led by fire chief Lars Heuer and a police car. Despite the rainy weather, numerous Lauenburg citizens were present, which underlined the positive mood. How feuerwehr-lauenburg.de reported, the route led through Hülsenkamp, Oberjersdaler Straße and Reeperbahn before returning to the fire station. The big highlight for the children turned out to be the candy rain from the turntable ladder, which made the children's eyes light up.
The return to the fire station was celebrated with the flashing lights of the fire engines, and after the parade, visitors were able to linger at fire bowls and fortify themselves with sausages, fries and hot drinks such as mulled wine and children's punch. These social moments help prepare for the coming Christmas season.
A common celebration for everyone
The lantern parades not only represent a colorful and happy get-together, but also strengthen the community in the cities. It's nice to see committed citizens, firefighters and youth come together to maintain traditions and bring joy to one another. Whether in Pinneberg, Lauenburg or elsewhere – such events are certainly very popular and bring people together.
