Carnival in Elmenhorst: Northern Germany's fools celebrate the start!
On Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, it's that time again: The Elmenhorst Carnival Association will ceremoniously open the 2025/2026 carnival session at 6:11 p.m. Over 150 active members will dress up this evening and ring in the crazy time with lively speeches. The highlights of the event will be the farewell to the old session and the reigning royal couple. The new royal couple is also celebrated with much applause while the motto of the new carnival session is announced. Chairman Martin Philipps emphasizes that the North Germans' joy of partying can be felt in many places, and the dance groups presenting newly rehearsed dances promise a colorful and entertaining evening. The big events then begin in February, also in Sarau (Segeberg district) and Moorege (Pinneberg district). In Marne (Dithmarschen district) the 57th carnival session is also in full swing on the same day, where prince couples, a musical procession and the foolish atmosphere in the town hall delight the audience.
Carnival as a cultural phenomenon
Carnival is not only a happy celebration, but also an important part of northern German culture. People have taken to the streets in large numbers to celebrate the beginning of the foolish season. The Elmenhorst carnival club attracts many active people who help shape the event with a lot of commitment and creativity. These celebrations show that carnival lives not only in the strongholds of the Rhineland, but also in northern Germany.
To heighten the anticipation even further, you could even be inspired by stories that capture the spirit of adventure and danger - think, for example, of the story of Nai and Gareki from the anime “Carnival”. Young Nai searches for his missing friend and becomes embroiled in an adventure that confronts him with strange creatures and secret organizations. Such stories have a certain charm and could symbolize the longed-for happiness and the challenges that can also exist during the carnival season. Interactive elements such as costumed actors could bring these exciting stories to the stages.
Everyday life outside of the celebrations
But it's not just the carnival that's the focus. There are also some challenges in everyday life that you should talk about. For example, a customer who ordered a PS5 from Amazon experienced a bizarre series of delivery-related glitches. After many misunderstandings with the supplier and difficulties with customer service regarding the refund, the customer is now planning legal action against the online giant. Stories like these remind us that everyday life can sometimes have its pitfalls, even in the midst of the festive season.
The core heroics that take place both at Carnival and in everyday life are ultimately what holds our community together. So the carnival not only celebrates, but also brings friendship, cohesion and, last but not least, the joy of life to the fore.
