Spading in Winnenden: New addiction therapy facility takes shape!

The groundbreaking ceremony for a new addiction therapy facility has taken place today on the castle area in Winnenden. This project is an important step to counter the increasing problems of dependencies and abuse of substances. The people present included numerous personalities, including the architects Andreas Ludwig and Gerhard Jeggle and the managing director of the ZFP, Bernd Czerny. The first mayor Norbert Sailer and the ZFP managing director Anett Rose-Losert were also on site to support the project.

The construction will take place on the area, which was previously used by an old building, the "Haus H". This building from 1938, which is no longer required for the therapy facility, has already been demolished and shredded. The house was renovated in 1987, but the circumstances were no longer adequate for modern therapy approaches.

preparations and redesign measures

Several measures have already been taken in the run -up to the groundbreaking ceremony. Numerous trees have fallen in the past few months and the playground has been laid to make room for the new facility. The rooms for music therapists and clinic pastors have also been redesigned and are now part of an extension of the castle. The marble fountain sculpture in front of the playhouse was safely stored during the redesign measures to maintain it for the future.

The need for addiction therapy facilities is underpinned by the alarming statistics to depend on substances. In Germany, around nine million people consume alcohol, while around 1.5 million people consume illegal drugs such as cannabis, cocaine and (meth) amphetamine to a problematic level. The number of people with opioid consumption disorders that affects around 166,000 people is particularly worrying. Despite these high numbers, only a fraction of those affected use addiction-related help, such as the Federal Ministry of Health

challenge is looking for

The facility in Winnenden will therefore be a necessary contribution to the challenges in the field of addiction and drug help. It is important to analyze the situation of outpatient and inpatient addiction aid in Germany in order to formulate recommendations for the further development of targeted supply offers. The circumstances at the new location should offer those affected an improved therapy environment and thus promote the use of help.

With these structural and conceptual measures, an important step to combat addiction and dependency is taken. The entire community is invited to pursue and support progress.
