Theo Reinhardt: A last win on the cult slope in Berlin!

In the Berlin Velodrom, an emotional farewell will be celebrated on February 1, 2025 when Theo Reinhardt ends his impressive career as a cycling professional. The 34-year-old, who, as a "Steppke" himself as a child, pursued the races in the bicycle, is celebrated by his colleagues in the 112nd Berlin six-day race. Reinhardt announced his end of his career as part of an official statement by the federal government of German cyclists, but he regrets that his end may come a little earlier than with other athletes. Reinhardt has been part of the national team since 2012 and looks back on numerous successes, including medals at World Championships and European Championships in Madison.

he celebrated his greatest success together with Roger Kluge, with which he won world championship in 2018 and 2019 and numerous medals at European level. At the games in Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024, however, the duo remained without a medal and finished these last races with mixed feelings. Reinhardt explains that the disappointment about the Olympic result, especially after a fall, will accompany him for a long time. Nevertheless, he proudly looks back on his career and emphasizes: "I can be very, very proud of what I have achieved", as he said to RBB24.

In 2025, the first secured participants have already been determined for the Berlin Sixdays, and the event promises to be an exciting race. As berlincycling.com , the farewell to Reinhardt will not be a highlight. He plans to keep his connection to cycling even after the active time, possibly as a U-23 national coach for German Cycling. "I really enjoy working with young people," emphasizes Reinhardt, who still has many plans for the future and wants to pass on his experience.
