On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, there was a serious accident in Recklinghausen in which a 7-year-old boy was injured. The incident occurred at 4:00 p.m. at Bochumer Straße 92 when the boy wanted to cross a street on a crossing aid with his scooter. He overlooked an approaching regular bus, which led to a frontal collision. Despite the attempted emergency braking of the bus driver, the accident could no longer be prevented.

In the impact, the boy suffered a head injury and was transported to a local clinic with suspicion of concussion. Fortunately, however, there is no danger to life. At the time of the accident, there were several passengers on the bus, two of whom were slightly injured and three adults. An adult had to be taken to the hospital with a shoulder fracture. The 59-year-old bus driver from Kamen suffered a shock and received outpatient treatment.

The area around the scene of the accident had to be temporarily blocked, which led to traffic diversions.
