Attention drivers: deer now often cause game accidents!

In April and May, the risk of game accidents on Germany's streets increases, and this now also affects North Thuringia. The State Police Inspection Nordhausen reports that over 20 game accidents were registered this week alone, including many with pregnant deer, which are now in the setting time.

Especially in the early morning hours between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m. and in the evening from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., drivers should be particularly careful. The police urgently advise to adapt the driving style to protect both humans and animal life. In the event of an accident, it is essential to secure the scene of the accident and immediately inform the police, especially when animals flee. The distance to injured or killed animals is also urgently offered to avoid further risks.
