Accident in Apolda: collide two cars, but nobody hurt!

On Friday, January 31, 2025, a spectacular traffic accident occurred at the Robert-Koch-Straße / Heidenberg intersection at 1:00 p.m. A 52-year-old Skoda driver ignored the red light and crashed head-on into a left-bent VW of a 75-year-old woman. As if by a miracle, both drivers remained unharmed, although the traffic was lively and numerous pedestrians were on the road.

The collision led to massive damage to both vehicles that had to be towed. In addition, a pedestrian light was completely destroyed, which led to the failure of the light signal systems on the viaduct in Apolda. The police are now investigating the exact circumstances of the accident. Luckily there were no other injuries!
