Celebrate diversity: Fernuni Hagen starts diversity days with exciting actions!

At the FernUniversität Hagen will take place from May 16 to 27, 2025, actions for nationwide diversity day. This day is initiated by Charter of the diversity and is intended to underline the importance and promotion of diversity in the world of work. Dr. Anna Haase from the presentation for equality of opportunities emphasizes how important a diverse society is and that the FernUniversität as the signatories of the Charter is actively committed to equal opportunities and against discrimination.

The program consists of digital offers and presence campaigns that are designed equally for employees and students. At the start on May 16, a bank is inaugurated on the red place, which is labeled with the slogan "No place for discrimination". Rector Prof. Stefan Stürmer will officially inaugurate the bank at 10 a.m. The two -meter -long bench with a shortened seat serves as a symbol of racism.

diversity and equality of opportunities

The "Bank against racism" campaign will live from the federal program "Democracy!" Funded. Nine institutions, including the distant university, have received a bank for their commitment to racism. The “Subway Therapy” campaign at Hagen Central Station also takes place on the same day. Here people have the opportunity to write thoughts and desires on adhesive notes and leave on a wall.

Another highlight of the diversity days will be a discussion event on May 27 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the Hagen campus. There, the topics of diversity and equality should be discussed intensively. In addition, digital formats are offered that present voices from the FernUniversität on the subject. The specific offers also include sustainability walks and information on accessibility.

an engagement for diversity

The Charter of Diversity, which the FernUniversität joined in February 2024, the goal of promoting a fair, respectful and future -proof working world. In this context, diversity in the world of work is being discussed intensively in Germany. More and more companies, such as the newly joined arsipa group , see themselves as responsibility to take a clear position. This group, one of the largest service providers in occupational safety in German -speaking countries, confirms their commitment to diversity with their joining.

Since 2012, the German diversity day has been organized annually by the Charter Association of Diversity. This year's motto is: "If diversity wins, Germany wins." The aim is to offer all actors in society a platform to actively promote diversity and combat discrimination. The initiative underlines the need to consider diversity as an attitude in the modern world of work in order to create a positive corporate culture and to meet the challenges of the future.
