Wildeshausen in the relegation battle: 1: 4 bankruptcy against Firrel!

Firrel, Deutschland - VfL Wildeshausen had to accept a bitter 1: 4 defeat against GW Firrel on Saturday, which increasingly makes the team's relegation from the national soccer league more likely. This defeat significantly reduces the chances of relegation, although coach Marcel Bragula emphasizes that the season should be “clean”. Wildeshausen started in this decisive game without several top performers, including Christoph Stolle and Mattes Hehr.

The first ray of hope for the guests was a goal of Ole Volkmer in the 22nd minute, which initially led to the lead. But Tim Schouwer equalized quickly in the 29th minute; Schouwer also achieved 2-1 for Firrel in added time shortly before half -time (45.+1). Bragula pointed out that his team's defensive acted incorrectly for both goals. In the second half, two VfL players were injured: Christopher Kant and Alexander Kupka, the latter, whereby the latter had to be replaced in the 58th minute.

GW Firrel expanded his lead in the 73rd minute by Felix Karius to 3-1. The 4: 1 then achieved Oussama Marmouk in the 77th minute, with which VfL Wildeshausen's hopes finally disappeared. However, Bragula praised the individual performance of Onno Bolling and was optimistic about the future of the team, even in the face of the impending descent.

The general situation in the league is tense, a balanced relegation battle rages between the teams. In other games in the Landesliga, teams such as Lafnitz II, Fürstenfeld and Bad Waltersdorf were able to collect important points, while the fight for survival remains intense. In particular, the relegation place could still wiggle vigorously due to the coming game days, which also strains the already tense nerves of everyone involved.

In the table, it looks bleak for VfL Wildeshausen. Players and coaches are under pressure while trying to successfully play the last games of the season in order to at least maintain the minimal hope for relegation.
