Charity flea market in Gießen: a festival of bargains and solidarity!

On April 28, 2025, the 19th charity flea market "Gießener Tage" takes place in the Hessenhalle Gießen, organized by the service club Round Round Gießen 94 in cooperation with the Ladies ’Circle. Under the motto "Muck out and buy for a good cause", the organizers present a large number of donations in kind, all of which will benefit the local non -profit projects. The event attracts numerous visitors and not only promotes social cohesion, but also the idea of sustainability.

Visitors can look forward to a large selection of articles. From wedding dresses to Scottish kilts to furniture and household items, there is something for everyone. At 12 p.m. the 1000th visitor was received with a bottle of sparkling wine, which underlines the high popularity of the market. A total of around 2500 visitors are expected to take the opportunity to take bargains and do something good at the same time. The articles are offered for sale in the seven of the Hessenhalle, whereby curious donations such as prepared wild birds can also be found.

sustainability and social responsibility

The proceeds from the sale should cover the expenses of the event. However, the majority flows into local projects, including the project group Margaretenhütte e.V. and the Teddyklinik Gießen. Around 170 helpers volunteer the event, which illustrates the joint responsibility and the commitment of the participants. In front of the flea market, an estimated 500 people made their well -preserved and clean donations in kind on Saturday, which made a significant part to promote social engagement.

Last year, successful projects such as the Tafel Gießen and the Gießen children's hospice were supported, and this year too, the entire proceeds will be used for charitable purposes. Around 200 helpers are again necessary for the 20th edition of the flea market next year. Interested parties can contact the Instagram page @Roundtable and become part of this valuable engagement.

variety and communal participation

The entrance fee of two euros serves to cover the hall costs and enables the wide range of items offered. The good framework conditions that are made possible by voluntary work promote not only the sale of objects, but also the social participation. The return of not sold items in the form of donations in kind is another aspect that gives the event a sustainable note and supports the reuse of resources.

The charity flea market is a clear expression of the commitment to social issues in the region. It not only combines the goal of collecting donations, but also raising awareness of sustainability and making an active contribution to a living community. The Gießener Anzeiger emphasizes that this initiative goes far beyond mere shopping and creates a platform for social interaction.
