Construction site Diepholz's pedestrian zone is paused: City festival remains secure
Current construction site in Diepholz: A planned interruption
The redesign of the pedestrian zone in Diepholz is faced with a short interruption, since the construction company makes company holidays. However, this resting phase has no negative effects on the schedule of the work.
regular planning phases
The city administration has confirmed that the work is in the time frame, as city press spokeswoman Katharina Korte explained. The planned two -week holidays of the construction company, which last until July 30, were planned in advance and are therefore no reason for the residents or business owners.
Preparations: An important milestone
Before the Diepholz city festival on August 9th and 10th, some work is still required. The last lines are currently laid in the northern section before the paving work begins. It is particularly crucial for the event organization that the preparations are completed in good time. For this reason, a direct access between Kolkstraße and Rathausplatz, which was stimulated by the sponsoring community, was stimulated.
costs and financing of the measures
The overall investment for the renovation amounts to around two million euros. The city of Diepholz benefits from financial support from the "Living Centers" funding program, while it has to bear about a third of the costs. This shows the city's commitment to revitalize their city center and make it attractive.
Future outlook: Grafensnonntag 2024 in the new gloss
The mayor Florian Marré expressed the goal in August 2023 that the county Sunday 2024 can be celebrated in the newly designed pedestrian zone. This event, which traditionally takes place in October, will be a good opportunity to show the progress of the renovation work and to experience the new atmosphere in the city center.
The short standstill during construction work is therefore less a delay, but a planned part of the process, which ensures that everything is completed in good time for the upcoming celebrations. The redesign brings a breath of fresh air to the city center, which will not only benefit the business owners, but also to the visitors.
