Colorful reinterpretation of the Bremen city musicians in Weyhe
Colorful reinterpretation of the Bremen city musicians in Weyhe
In Weyhe, a fascinating exhibition by Peruvian artist Reynaldo K’Akachi will be opened in Weyhe from July 27, which not only represents an artistic development, but also beats a cultural bridge between Europe and South America. The name of the exhibition, "El Encanto del Color", which means "the charm of color", indicates the living and expressive works of the artist.
the vernissage and its special features
The opening of the exhibition will take place on Saturday, July 27th, from 5 p.m. in the Sudweyher Wassermühle. On this occasion, K’Akachi presents his art, which is strongly shaped by the culture and traditions of his homeland Peru. Visitors can look forward to a unique sight, since the classic Bremen city musicians are presented in a whole new way - with animals that are located in Peru.
works of art with deep importance
K’Akachi's works are not only visually impressive, but also tell stories. On his painting, a colibri, a puma, a ram and a llama replace the German animals of the Bremen city musicians. This artistic reinterpretation combines the tradition of the old Andean culture with the influences of his life in Germany.
The artist uses a special technique that achieves an effective appearance: he paints with oil paint on a primer made of sand, pigments and wood glue. This gives his work a special depth and liveliness.
cultural roots and personal experiences
Reynaldo K’Akachi, born in Lima in 1960, Peru, completed his artistic training at the renowned University of Bellas Artes. After several years in Germany, where he has built up a life as an artist and musician, he regularly returns to his homeland. Growing up in the Andes, he spent large parts of his childhood in a small village, which shapes his art.
His family is one of the Aymara, one of the indigenous peoples in South America. K’Akachi is not only committed to his own art, but also for the training of young people in Peru. He founded the music school "Centro Cultural Kory Escuela de Sikuris Kakachi" to bring traditional music closer to disadvantaged children
financing and support for social projects
A special event as part of the exhibition is the live painting on Sunday, August 4, when the artist not only presents his music on his birthday, but also uses the income of his work for his music school in Peru. This is illustrated by K’Akachi's commitment to the next generation, especially because he grew up in modest conditions and always felt the need to help others.
A look into the future of the exhibition
The exhibition can be visited in the Sudweyher Wassermühle by September 8, and admission is free. Visitors can look forward to a finissage on September 8, at which K’Akachi presents the diversity of Peruvian musical instruments to celebrate the cultural heritage of his homeland.
k’akachis not only reflect on the cultural differences, but also promote a deeper understanding and appreciation between cultures. His combination of art and music shows how important cultural identity and education are for the community.
