The effects of the change of coach on the HSG Hunte-Aue Löwen

The HSG Hunte-Aue Löwen faces significant personnel changes in the coaching team for the new season, which not only affect the A and B juniors, but also could also influence the entire association structure and the development of young talents. After the relegation to the Oberliga, the association is shaped by new dynamics that offer both challenges and opportunities.

New coach for the A-Juniors

Heiner Thiemann, an experienced trainer, took responsibility for the A-youth. The 72-year-old replaces Marko Pernar, who remains responsible for the Oberliga men. Thiemann emphasizes the need to focus on young talent training and ensure close cooperation with Pernar. "We want to develop young players further," explains Thiemann. This strategy could increase the performance of the entire team in the long term because the young talents are systematically promoted.

The failure of Donatas Biras

One of the biggest setbacks for HSG Hunte-aue Löwen is the long-term failure of goalkeeper Donatas Biras. After a knee operation in the Mallersdorf Clinic, the 42-year-old player is not available for several months. Thiemann complains about this loss, but remains optimistic: "Donatas is ambitious and will come back." During his absence, Stankko Petrovic, the new goalkeeper and also coach of the female B-youth, will take the position as number one. This challenge will be crucial for the stability of the team in the Oberliga.

New coach of the female B-youth

With Stankko Petrovic, HSG Hunte-Aue Löwen also has a new coach for the female B youth. Petrovic, who is in the goal for the men, takes over the responsibility of Bernd Öhlmann, who has to pause for health reasons. He receives support from Hella Khalaf, who brings experience from his own A-youth. This restructuring could help the young players to assert themselves in the A-youth Oberliga and to develop their skills.

The relevance of these changes

The changes in the coaching staff and the associated changes are not only important for the HSG HUNTE-AUE Löwen, but also reflect a general need in German handball: the continuous promotion of young talents. By priorizing the training of young players, it could rely on a healthy foundation that not only leads to improving performance, but also contributes to the stability of the club structure and strengthening the sense of community.
