Young people shape the future: Stuhrer students conquer the council meeting!

In the exciting business game "Pimp Your Town", students from the cooperative comprehensive schools Brinkum and Moordeich recently organized a fictional council meeting, which could ensure a breath of fresh air in the municipal decision -making. Around 100 participants were present, while the young people performed as politicians and discussed over 14 applications with creative ideas. The topics include graffiti, free hygiene items and nature conservation. The swing of the students and the committed discussions enliven the atmosphere, which is often missing in real council meetings.

The young politicians demonstrated: factual and without a long -winded party political word battles they did their agenda. However, an application to enable the legal spray on the skating railway was rejected. For this, the local council will soon have to take up the proposal for providing free hygiene items on public toilets - a point that the Greens had already judged as positive. Further demands such as free textbooks and sustainable urban development also throw new light on the wishes of the youth. "You are ahead of your time," praised the first councilor Bettina Scharrelmann the committed young people who actively contribute to local politics. more www.kreiszeitung.de .
