Chapel toast Hawaii donates to the conversion of the porcupus enclosure in Petermoor
The connection between music and animal welfare can be stronger than you think. This is shown by the latest commitment to the Hawaii chapel, which recently donated 500 euros to the support association of the Petermoor zoo. This donation flows into an important project: the conversion of the enclosure for the bargain pigs to offer the animals a better home.
music for a good cause
At a lively concert on the occasion of the dance in May in the Beerpark in front of the Bassum zoo, the musicians of the Toast Hawaii chapel had a guilty conscience. The volume and the type of music were not ideal for the animals in the zoo. "It was a kind of reparation," said bassist Günter Gevers. With the donation, the musicians not only want to help the porcupus pigs, but also help the small zoo to help them more diversity. In addition, pampas, also known as Maras, should move into the zoo in order to increase biodiversity.
solemn handover with a wink
The donation was handed over on a sunlit summer day. The members of the band, dressed in their striking 1970s outfits, could not refrain from a joke about the animals: "You can hug the porcupine," joked singer Peter Heuermann. Rainer Willenbrock, who is responsible for the association, emphasized that every euro who is donated will benefit the animals directly. "We are happy about everyone," he said, emphasizing the meaning of every little donation.
a band on success course
The chapel toast Hawaii, which has been performing for around four years, has made a name for itself with its energetic slaby songs. Originally, Gevers wanted to found a cover band for Rio Reiser, but the band has developed into a phenomenon that inspires people of all age group. "We play the classics faster and tougher than the originals," explains drummer Christian Kallweit. The band's name is a tribute to a converted text line from Udo Jürgens and could not be more suitable for her unique style.
important role of the support association
The support association of the Petermoor zoo with its 400 members has big plans for the future. In addition to the redesign of the porcupus enclosure, there are numerous projects that are intended to increase the attractiveness of the zoo. The members are passionate about animal welfare and are happy about any support, be it from local companies or committed musicians such as the Hawaii chapel.
The band's commitment is not only a sign of their love for music, but also for their sense of responsibility towards the community and animals. The upcoming events not only promise musical fun, but also sustainable support for the Petermoor zoo.
