50 years of Heider music lovers: a feast of folklord

The Heider music lovers recently celebrated a remarkable anniversary: their 50th anniversary. This association, which is deeply rooted in regional music history, was founded on September 4, 1974 in the "Markthalle" restaurant. Originally as part of the men's gymnastics club, the journey began to offer folk music for all ages - from the youngest to the elderly.

In the first few years, the focus was on special events that took place in September and October, such as lantern parades. It is noteworthy that the association quickly had to set up organizationally in order to be ready for their first big public concert in the Tivoli ball and concert hall in November. In addition, the equipment of the youth playman train with drums and flutes was necessary, which was realized by the Westharz Musikhaus in Alt Gandersheim.

an inseparable connection to wind music

The Westharz Musikhaus and the name Wilhelm Watermann are indeed closely linked to the history of German wind music. The music train, under the responsible management of Kurt Martens, was able to offer a rich program of folk, entertainment and mood music with around 30 active musicians. This not only strengthened musical cohesion, but also helped to demonstrate the orchestra's skills at various events in and to Dithmarschen.

The dedication and commitment of the musicians led to several concert tours at home and abroad. The places visited include Schönau a.d. Brend in Lower Franconia and Odense in Denmark. These trips were not only musical highlights, but also a sign of the growing level of awareness of the association. The foundation not only traditional groups, but also modern formations, such as a big band, was also part of the ambitions of the music lovers.

The result was the "Tremolo Brass Band", which later became known as "City Club Combo". This band initially had a close connection to the music train, and the first musicians, such as Kurt-Ewald Finke and Jens Rolfs, decisively shaped the wind section. Your work has contributed to the diversity and the constant development of the orchestra.

a modern repertoire and the joy of making music

Nowadays, the around 30 musicians aged 10 to 70 continue their work and constantly expand their musical repertoire. In addition to classic marching and mood music, they also develop current hit and pop music. This development is perceived by the musicians with pleasure, since they not only show their skills, but can also win new members.

The rehearsal evenings are a very special part of the club life: the musical director, Ute Abraham, describes these evenings as a successful mix of serious practice and a lot of fun. The regular rehearsals take place every Wednesday from 7:15 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. in the clubhouse at Hinrich-Schmidt-Straße 22 in Heide and offer space for creative exchange and musical growth.
