in Itzehoe, in the Steinburg district, there was an unusual incident on Monday morning when three cattle broke out from the site of a butcher. The animals escaped through a goal that was not closed in time, which led to a chaotic scenario in the city.

A cattle ran directly towards an employee, the head over head jumped to the side, while the other two cattle continued to escape. A beef crossed the tracks near the transport office, where it was sighted around 9 a.m. and led to traffic disruptions. In the meantime, another animal ran on Adenauerallee and entered the road several times, which stopped traffic.

The police were informed immediately and started looking for the run -down cattle. One of the animals even crossed the Delftorbrücke and ultimately landed in the moat in front of Münsterdorf. The rescue of the animals was challenging: a cow fell into a ditch and landed in the water, but was brought back to the slaughterhouse after a short rescue operation.

The second beef, which stayed over the Malzmüller meadows towards Oelixdorf, was ultimately captured. According to the veterinary office, one of the cattle was slaughtered according to schedule, while the other two were allowed to go back to their farm.
