Rail traffic between Ulm and Blaubeuren due to the risk of bridges!

Blaustein, Deutschland - Railway traffic between Ulm and Blaubeuren stands still - a bridge at risk of collapse at Blaustein forces drastic measures! On Wednesday, due to considerable defects in the tensioning steel, the bridge, which also spans train tracks, was first blocked and then the train traffic was discontinued. Experts alerted the city of Blaustein, since the material used is comparable to that of the partially collapsed carol bridge in Dresden.

The effects can be felt immediately: there are no more trains on the route! Instead, buses were used between Ulm and Blaubeuren, and from Thursday a regular rail replacement traffic should be available. The city has announced that the traffic will be redirected locally. But the blocking could continue until the end of October, and the situation remains tense. Further information is on www.swr.de to be found.
