Dresden: Pharmacists protest against reform plans - Köpping promises support
today protests took place in Dresden, in which pharmacist teams spoke out against the new reform plans of the federal government for the pharmacist landscape. Among the demonstrators was the Saxon Minister of Health Petra Köpping, who decided to demonstrate their support to the pharmacy teams.
Köpping took the opportunity to point out the challenges in front of which the pharmacists are facing. "It is important to me to speak to the pharmacy teams in Dresden today. It is quite stormy times for the profession," she said, showing understanding for the worries of the protesters. At the same time, she appealed to everyone involved to conduct an open dialogue about the controversial measures, because the future of public pharmacies is of central importance.
The role of pharmacies in the health system
The health politician emphasized the essential role of pharmacies for general health care and described the comprehensive pension supply as part of the general interest. "Pharmacies have an important pilot function in our health system," Köpping clarified. The pharmacists are therefore not only responsible for the submission of medication, but also for the comprehensive and understandable advice of their customers. In their opinion, direct contact between the pharmacist and the customer is decisive to ensure the correct application and safety of the medication.
This view was also supported by the support of the citizens, since confidence in the local pharmacy plays a fundamental role in the success of therapy. "Pharmacies are much more than a pure medication edition. They act particularly in rural regions as communication centers," she added.
A central point of the criticism of Köpping was the idea of so -called “pharmacies Light”. She pointed out that these concepts endanger the supply capacity and quality of the people. "It has to be a pharmacist or pharmacist constantly," she emphasized and agreed with the Saxon Chamber of Pharmacists and the Pharmacists' Association that the strengthening of local pharmacies has a priority.
call for cooperation
Another central concern of the minister is the training of the prospective pharmacists. "I continue to work for an expansion of the study position capacities," she assured and thanked the pharmacies for their tireless use for the well -being of the patient.
The pharmacists' demands in particular are understandable in view of the higher fees in view of the intolerations that are intensified and the increasing energy costs. Köpping asked the pharmacists to openly communicate their worries and suggestions: "The Ministry of Social Affairs is open to suggestions. However, we have to drill further on the many thick boards. It is best to go together, of course!"
