The new ESMC factory is to open its doors as early as 2027, which is urgently calling the town hall on the scene. In order to manage the overwhelming rush, tram line 8 is now extended to the "Chip-Revier" (Wilschdorfer Landstrasse).

The plans are already in the Macht: the train should drive from the “Brunnenweg” stop shortly before Boxdorf, which could attract 3,500 additional passengers a day.
