Orang -utan's new home in Dresden Zoo conquered: a move of joy!
In the Dresden Zoo, the five Orangutans celebrate their move to a new, spacious home that was finally completed after decades of planning. The moving stages began with the couple Toni and Daisy and their son Dalai, followed by the older orangutans Djaka and Djudi. The changes were eagerly awaited because the move under anesthesia had to take place. According to Matthias Hendel, the senior curator, all residents have now settled in well and enjoy the new climbing opportunities in their generous systems.
Visitors can now observe the lively primates in their new empire, but there is a challenge: the animals first have to get used to the dark grid ends that lead to the outside area. While Toni and Djaka courageously explore their surroundings, Djudi, Dalai and Daisy still show reluctance. For Dalai, a new phase of life begins with the move, since he now has his own section and has to dismiss himself from his parents. The team is working on strengthening their confidence in the new circumstances. More details are available at www.dnn.de .
