Stormchaos in Dresden: Fire brigade saved over 25 locations in 72 hours!

In the last 72 hours, the emergency services in Dresden were alerted 579 times, including emergency doctors in 178 cases. The rescue helicopter Christoph 38 was requested four times, and 266 qualified ambulances took place. In the meantime, the fire brigade fought against the consequences of strong gusts of wind that caught the city area on Sunday and led to numerous operations. In total, the fire brigade moved out to 17 fire operations and 25 other areas of application, with fallen trees and falling branches causing considerable damage to vehicles and buildings.

At the university clinic, three vehicles were buried under a fallen tree, while another tree cuts a telephone line. In the Weißig district, too, the emergency services had to act quickly to avert further dangers. The fire brigade presented the storm front, which moved across the city from 8 a.m. In addition, the Florian trade fair took place from October 10th to 12th, where the Dresden and Leipzig fire brigade presented an exciting program. Over 28,000 visitors found out about fire and disaster protection developments, and 320 interested parties took part in the recruitment test for the training occupations of the fire chief and the emergency paramedic, which represents an increase of 20 % compared to the previous year.
