New lid park in Hamburg-Stellingen: Green oasis over the motorway tunnel

A green paradise over the motorways in Hamburg

The city of Hamburg has opened a new public park that is located on the noise protection tunnel of Autobahn 7 in Stellingen. The project was officially inaugurated by Hamburg's Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) and represents an innovative solution to use inner -city rooms sensibly.

The 900 meter long lid park offers residents and visitors numerous opportunities for relaxation and leisure activities. With 160 trees, perennial areas, benches and play equipment, a place was created that serves to combine the district of Stellingen into a coherent and livable space.

The costs for the construction of this unique park were 5.7 million euros. This investment in the green area shows the commitment of the city of Hamburg to upgrade urban areas and to offer the residents a high -quality environment.

The district office Eimsbüttel is already responsible for the second lid park after a similar project in Schnelsen was realized two years ago. This measure helps to combine historically separate districts and to improve the quality of life of the citizens.

The new park in Stellingen symbolizes a successful combination of urban infrastructure and natural environment. It offers residents the opportunity to actively relax and enjoy nature in the middle of the city. It remains to be seen how this new green area will be named in the future.
