In the city center of Wismar, on April 12, 2025, around 01:38 a.m. a brutal stabbing, in which a 57-year-old man was injured. The 40-year-old suspect got into a verbal argument with the victim in front of a bar, who quickly escalated. Suddenly he pulled a knife and added the damaged cuts in the chest area before he fled.

A 47-year-old witness was able to obtain the aggressive perpetrator, but he used a CS gas pistol and continued to escape. Thanks to the alarmed police, the suspect was picked up and arrested at Schiffbauerdamm. During the search, the officials found a telescopic stroke and other knives. The man who was heavily drunk could have been under the influence of medication. In the morning, however, he was already released, while the investigations by the criminal police continue to run due to dangerous bodily harm and other offenses.
