Drug controls in Rostock: Police draws rigorous record of the DIS-WEKE!

The police in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania carried out the first week of action "Drug recognition in road traffic", for short "Dis-Woche", from 25 to 27 March 2025. This new initiative aimed to improve traffic safety. Together with officials from several federal states, over 100 emergency services carried out intensive traffic controls in Rostock. Not only traffic offenses were punished, but also knowledge was exchanged and training courses.

Results of the controls are alarming: 13 drivers were placed without a driver's license, 16 people had drugs with themselves, and 11 more driving under the influence of drugs or medication. A special sensation caused a 37-year-old man who was not only tested positively for cocaine, but also had no driver's license. In addition, a 22-year-old was also caught under the influence of drugs, whose 16-year-old passenger was caught with 60 grams of marijuana. A telescopic cuttail and several one -handed knives were also found during a search of his apartment. The police announced that they are continuing their control measures in order to increase the safety in road traffic sustainably.
