Police handle at the train station: man without ID card arrested for theft

on Tuesday morning (March 4th) during a check at the Essen main station, federal police officers met for a homeless man who could not show himself. During the search, the officers secured several tools as well as a earth nail, a knife blade and a carpet knife - all objects that, according to a current decision by the Federal Police Directorate, Sankt Augustin may not be carried.

The man, a 33-year-old Afghan, was also searched for by an arrest warrant: In May 2024, he was sentenced to 45 days or 90 daily rates for theft. Since he could not pay the required sum of 1434.50 euros, he was arrested and brought to the JVA. In addition, he threatened a penalty payment of 200 euros if he again violates the general order. The secured items were taken into custody.
