Gun out! The police secure nine knives at Kiel Central Station

Civil officers from the Kiel police carried out intensive controls on Tuesday afternoon in the vicinity of the main train station, which focused on violations of the Weapons Act. 45 people were checked between 12 and 5:30 p.m., with nine suspicious serious violations discovered. These people had either moved from a train or bus towards the train station or wanted to enter a train. In total, the officers secured five one-handed knives, two pocket knives as well as a carambit and a kitchen knife.

Against those affected, administrative offense procedures have been initiated, and for an 18-year-old suspect there is also the possibility of a ban on weapons. The federal police also carried out their own controls at the train station. In view of the ongoing problems with weapons in local public transport, the police want to continue this type of controls. In addition, a section of a knife was issued a year ago, which significantly tightens the wearing of weapons in local public transport.
